Overview of the task:
We were fortunate to receive through our state of the art studio doors – the first in the UK – Lamborghini Urus Performante in this stunning Ad Personam Blu Uranus colour.
Wearing its 2023 numberplate and arriving from Italy to Lamborghini Leeds, the car was immediately collected in our enclosed trailer and delivered to our protection studio here in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire for our popular Full Body Paint Protection Film kit.
The Process:
The car was meticulously moved into our workshop for an initial appraisal, inspecting all the paintwork prior to preparation. Lamborghini’s are always prepared at a high level, with next to no paint imperfections from factory other than very light paintwork swirling which is common due to the vehicle needing to be cleaned a few times before arriving at its nominated dealership in the UK. As the vehicle has no protection on it from factory, this is the only reason very slight swirling to the paintwork appears. Some vehicle manufacturers have bad paintwork imperfections and issues which need rectifying.
Once the appraisal was done the vehicle then received our 22 stage decontamination process, removing all fall out from the vehicle to create an ultra smooth surface. The paintwork is then lightly machine polished to remove the fine glazing and really refine the incredible paint finish to how it should look. The vehicle is then washed again to remove all contaminants and dust residue from the machine polishing process.
Paint Protection Film Application:
Once inside and in our PPF application area, the paintwork is alcohol cleaned to remove all oils and polishes from the paintwork which will interfere with our Paint Protection Film application.
All of the panels on the vehicle are pre-cut, meaning no cutting on the vehicle is required. Our highly skilled PPF technicians do an excellent job of lining up all panels and fitting them to perfection. Nothing is removed on the vehicle due to everything being pre-cut around all sections. The only items we remove from the vehicle are the door handles, to minimise any edges being visible which would have been cut around them. These are the levels we like to go to for our clients as if this were our own vehicle, we would appreciate every time someone opens the handle it doesn’t even look like there is PPF on the panels!
Our Final Thoughts:
Once complete, the finished result was seriously incredible. We have been doing this for over 15 years and the end result has to be up there with one of the most rewarding colours to make “pop”.

The car was then ceramic coated inside and out with Gtechniq products, namely Gtechniq HALO Flexible Film Ceramic Coating on top of the Paint Protection Film.
